Billy Mays Remembered (1958-2009)

Hi Billy Mays here!

It’s sad to hear about legendary Salesman and Infomercial King Billy Mays passing away today.

Billy Mays

I was actually planning to post this video below of Billy Mays last week. For some reason I couldn’t get his infomercials off my brain. His powerful “Hi Billy Mays Here ….” is so memorable he definitely knew how to make things stick (no pun intended with Mighty Putty!)

What stands out in my mind about Billy Mays is that he used the gift of his voice and took it big time, becoming a household name. During his career Billy Mays has sold billions of dollars worth of products making him a Master Salesman.

Here is a video of Billy Mays ordering through a fast food drive thru:

Michael Jackson: Remembering an Icon (1958-2009)

Michael Jackson will be remembered as an Icon.

Icon is a very powerful word and few people will be remembered as an Icon like Michael Jackson.

One definition of Icon according to Dictionary.com is: One who is the object of great attention and devotion; an idol.

The response today to his passing has been tremendous. It’s beyond comprehension. No one can ever experience what it’s like to be Michael Jackson. The music, the dance moves, the success, the controversy, the transformation, the fans, the fame, and the media.

What he has achieved in his lifetime will never be surpassed. His achievements are the ultimate representation of someone mastering their potential and perfecting their talents.

I will always remember an interview with Michael where he talked about a his favorite tree that he would climb and sit there on one of the limbs. He mentioned that sitting in that tree is where some of his greatest hits “just came to him.” On another occasion he recalled driving on Mulholland Drive and another hit song “just came to him.”

When you are on the right path in life ideas will flow. If you take action on these ideas with consistent hard work, over time you will be unstoppable and one day perhaps you too will be refered to as an Icon.

Who will you become?
